Abraham Covenant

I Will Make Of You A Great Nation

In Genesis 12:1-3, The Most High promises Ab-Ram that he would make him a great Nation.

Genesis 12:1 Now the Most High said unto Abram: ‘Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto the land that I will show thee.

12:2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and be thou a blessing.

12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and him that curseth thee will I curse; and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

precepts: Genesis 13:14,, 15:18, 17:1-6

Genesis 13:14-18

14 And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: 15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. 16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, thenshall thy seed also be numbered. 17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee. 18 Then Abram removedhistent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, whichisin Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD.

The reason why YA'OH was with Ab-Ram is because Ab-Ram was obedient to YA'OH's instructions.

Abraham's Obedience

In the boook of Jasher, we will see that all men during the days of Abraham, (besides those who followed Noah, served idols). However, before we get into the book of Jasher, first let's prove that The Book Of Jasher is an authorized book of The Most High....

Joshua 10:13

13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

So we see in the book of Joshua 10:13, that The Most High held the sun still for Joshua. This verse also tells us that this miracle is written in The Book Of Jasher. Therefore The Book Of Jasher is confirmed.

Let's continue....

Jasher 9:6

6 And Abram was in Noah's house thirty-nine years, and Abram knew the Most High from three years old, and he went in the ways of the Lord until the day of his death, as Noah and his son Shem had taught him; and all the sons of the earth in those days greatly transgressed against the Most High, and they rebelled against him and they served other gods, and they forgot the Lord who had created them in the earth; and the inhabitants of the earth made unto themselves, at that time, every man his god; gods of wood and stone which could neither speak, hear, nor deliver, and the sons of men served them and they became their gods.

9 And all that generation were wicked in the sight of the Lord, and they thus made every man his god, but they forsook the Supreme Ruler who had created them. 10 And there was not a man found in those days in the whole earth, who knew the Lord (for they served each man his own God) except Noah and his household, and all those who were under his counsel knew the Most High in those days. 11 And Abram the son of Terah was waxing great in those days in the house of Noah, and no man knew it, and the Most High was with him.

Jasher 11:13-14

14 And Abram knew the Lord, and he went in his ways and instructions, and the Most High his Supreme Ruler was with him.

Abraham knew The Most High,. Therefore YA'OH was with him. When we believe in The Most High, we will follow his instructions, and our belief will be counted as righteousness...

Genesis 15:6

And he believed in the YA'OH; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

Lets see some precepts...

1 Maccabees 2:52

Was not Abraham found faithful in temptation, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness?

Sirach 44:19-21

19 Abraham was a great father of many people: in glory was there none like unto him; 20 Who kept the law of the most High, and was in covenant with him: he established the covenant in his flesh; and when he was proved, he was found faithful. 21 Therefore he assured him by an oath, that he would bless the nations in his seed, and that he would multiply him as the dust of the earth, and exalt his seed as the stars, and cause them to inherit from sea to sea, and from the river unto the utmost part of the land. 22 With Isaac did he establish likewisefor Abraham his father's sakethe blessing of all men, and the covenant, And made it rest upon the head of Jacob. He acknowledged him in his blessing, and gave him an heritage, and divided his portions; among the twelve tribes did he part them.

Isaiah 51:1-2

1 Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged. 2 Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

The Most High tells us to look to Abraham as a model for righteousness.

Abraham tempted by The Most High...

Genesis 22:1-19

1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. 2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. 3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him. 4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. 5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you. 6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together. 7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? 8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. 10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.11 And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. 12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. 13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. 14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen. 15 And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, 16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: 17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; 18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. 19 So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba.

As we can Abraham was so obedient to The Most High that he was about to sacrifice his son. It was Abraham's obedience to The Most High's instructions that led to him being choosen by The Most High.

As it is written "obedience is better than sacrfice.......

1 Samuel 15:22

And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.

Our goal is to be obedient to what the Most High has told us to do, which is keep his instructions (commandments).
